System Engineer (COBOL)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled IT professional with experience in insurance systems, enterprise platforms, and modern technologies to develop new Insurance Products. The role involves development and maintenance across legacy and cloud environments, stakeholder communication, and participation in digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain variable insurance systems
- Facilitate meetings and coordinate with multiple departments
- Work with AS400 or mainframe systems
- Develop open systems using object-oriented languages
- Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
- Support Salesforce development and integration
- Participate in core system migration projects
- Build solutions using Power Platform and RPA
- Contribute to Agile development processes
- Learn and apply modern and digital technologies
- Communicate in English at a business level
Skills & Experience
Must
- 3+ years of experience in system planning, design, development, and maintenance of COBOL-based systems
- Work experience and application development experience in a life insurance company or the financial industry
- Communication skills in Japanese
- No resistance to reading and writing in English (use of translation tools acceptable)
Want
- Experience in developing or maintaining variable insurance systems
