Cloud Application Engineer
Job Description
You will be a member of the Financial process related application development team. Your main role will be to migrate and improve existing on-premises ETL systems by redesigning them on Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate closely with business users in the finance domain and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Migrate and redesign on-premises ETL solutions to Azure
- Collaborate with business users (in Japanese) to gather and understand requirements
- Develop and support applications for finance areas such as payment, accounting, procurement, actuary, and investment
- Provide user support and manage IT services in line with ITSM policies (e.g., access management, permission reviews)
- Monitor and optimize performance of Azure SQL Databases
- Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Lead or contribute to Scrum-based development processes
- Coordinate with multiple teams across different backgrounds and work styles
Skills & Experience
Must
- 3+ years of experience in application development
- 2+ years of experience in public cloud (preferably Azure)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL
- Basic understanding of algorithms and programming languages (Python, Java, or C++)
- Business-level Japanese (JLPT N2) and English
- Strong communication skills and willingness to support business users directly
- Self-motivated, eager to learn new technologies and domains
