UXUI Lead/Manager
Job Description
We are looking for a UX/UI Manager to lead the design of intuitive and user-centered digital experiences. This role involves defining UX strategies, conducting user research, and overseeing UI design. You will manage and grow a design team while collaborating with engineers, product managers, and business teams to align user needs with business goals. The role requires fluency in both Japanese and English, as part of the development will be handled offshore in the future.
Key Responsibilities
UX Strategy & Research
- Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, behavioral analysis)
- Create personas, customer journey maps, and optimize information architecture
- Propose UX improvements based on data analysis
UI Design & Prototyping
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
- Build and maintain design systems and component libraries
- Continuously improve usability through testing and iteration
Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Build and manage a UX/UI team from scratch
- Coordinate with product managers, engineers, and marketers
- Promote accessibility and inclusive design across the company
Skills & Experience
Must
- 5+ years of UX/UI design experience (including 2+ years in a lead/manager role)
- Hands-on experience with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Strong background in user research and data-driven UX improvement
- Solid knowledge of information architecture and interaction design
- Experience collaborating with engineers and operating design systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Business-level fluency in both Japanese and English

- Background in SaaS, B2B platforms, or IoT-related products
- Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, JIS X 8341-3)
- Familiarity with service design, design thinking, or behavioral UX
- Experience with global/multilingual design and localization
- Experience in Agile, Scrum, or Lean UX project environments
- Japanese Skill:
- Business Level (JLPT N2 and above)
